Searching for Scholarships….
One caution about scholarship searches in general is to be wary of those individuals or “companies” who want to help you to find scholarships for a fee. Many of our seniors’ parents have received, or will, at some point, receive, information in the mail inviting them to a “free interview” that ends up with the sales pitch to “sign here for a small fee and we’ll help you find scholarships.” Scholarships are advertised for free on the internet, and via e-mail and regular mail to high schools; these companies are simply trying to “make a buck” by giving information to parents that is available for free.
