Student Life at Champion

Champions of Praise! Gospel Choir

This year, a choir group was added as an extracurricular activity. The leader of the choir is Lee Shawver, and has taught the choir everything he knows. Everyone in the choir group has improved so much from the first week. The group is made of mostly students, but a couple teachers have joined. There are three tenors, four altos, and 4/5 sopranos. The group has sang for several events. The first event was in chapel for the students and teachers. The second event was for the second annual Chico Gospel Fest, where they were the smallest but the loudest. And the last event the group sang for was the Champion Auction and everyone loved hearing them. The group has worked very hard and are planning on putting out their own CD. So, keep a lookout for an amazing CD.  CLICK HERE to view the video of their concert.

Senior Retreat 2007

The Senior Retreat this year was at Redwood Alliance. We spent two days there. The first day that we left we got there and settle in and went down to the “discussion room” where we talked about the class as a whole and how we should become better as a whole. Then we all hung out for a little while and we went back to our cabins and we went to sleep to get ready for our long day ahead of use the next day. The following day, we went down to breakfast and after breakfast we went and meant the guy that was going to do a bunch of team building exercises. The first team building exercise that we did was where we split up into two groups and one person from each group went at a time. That person had to be blind folded and your team had to get the person to the pool noodle and then they had to hit the other blind folded person. This exercise was a bit difficult because there was some trust issues and too many people were talking, but overall they did well (NOT FINISHED TYPING)

Homecoming this year was on February 2 and the theme was Winter Wonderland. The ASB reserved the Chico Event Center above the Brickworks downtown. Everything was decorated in pretty blues and silvers! It made the night wonderful, even though it was raining.
