Champion Girl’s Softball Team Off to a Good Start
The Champion softball girl’s team is off to a great start. Out of the team’s first seven games, they have only lost one game, to East Nicolaus. Their greatest win, so far, was against Faith Christian, the final score being 32-0.
With five seniors on the team, the girl’s team is strong. Ashley Foster, recovering from a knee injury, has the second highest batting average on the team. Kayla Mansfield, the team’s pitcher, has already 36 strike-outs in the seven games Champion has played. Bethany Sweetman, Catherine Fitzpatrick, and Melissa Baumann are also helping the team by adding their own standings.
The rest of the team is also doing amazing. Heidi Louber, a junior, is number one on the team for stolen bases. Karlee Burns, a sophomore, is helping out Kayla Mansfield with pitching. Camille Fuller,a junior, has the only home run for the team. Natalie Crippa, Kate Lapp, and Seanie Davenport, sophomores, contribute to the team by their batting skills, stolen bases, and cheering on their teammates. Emily Reynolds, a freshmen, is having fun for her first year on the Champion team.
