Soul
A plan for a Christian education is not complete until we also care for the soul. We do not see our job as a Christian school to change the beliefs or theology of a student, that job belongs to the family and the their home church. We do, however,seek to challenge each student to think critically about our spirituality and how we live out our daily lives. The social and emotional development of the student is vital to a well rounded education. We think of this heavy task in two distinct relationships:
Vertical
We seek to stand alongside the family and the family’s church to develop students spiritually through weekly chapels and to learn more about God’s Word through Bible classes. We work from the perspective that we are simply standing alongside the spiritual development the family already has in place. Since we are an interdenominational group of people, we strive to keep the curriculum respectfully clear of controversial topics within the Christian community by teaching established truths shared by the vast majority of Christianity.
Horizontal
We have a distinct spirit of unity that sets our campus apart. This is one reason why Champion is so successful! A student’s relationship with peers, teachers, and coaches has a major influence on personal development. Our teachers went into the profession because they love to teach and they love instilling knowledge. Our coaches coach more for inter-personal success than for championships. This interaction combined with a shared dedication to Christian mentoring make Champion the complete package!
